Soy-garlic chicken

Yesterday, hubby and I attended mass at 10:30am. Hubby thought that I will go to the mall with friends after mass but I told him I have to fix our dinner first. So we went home and then I prepare our dinner, it's chicken cooked with soy and garlic. I cooked it in slow cooker so when we get back from the mall it was already done and ready to it. This recipe is the easiest thing to do as long as you have the slow cooker, set it on low, time for cooking is around 2 or 3 hrs by then you have some time to whatever you wanted to do.

6 chicken quarters
1 can (8oz)tomato sauce
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tsp mince garlic

@@Place it in a 4 qt. slow cooker. In a small bowl, combine the tomato sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar and garlic; pour over chicken.
@@ Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hrs (depending if it is tender or how you like your chickens texture) I like mine to be so tender that the meat already separates the bones. Then your ready for your dinner.

Dried fish with tomatoes...

I never thought that bulad or tuyo when you live in a foreign land is a sought after dish that pinoy are looking for. In PI we have  plenty of different kinds or variety of tuyo/bulad or dried fish specially when we visit the place of Cebu. In the place where I came from we have many varieties too since we are a bit close from Pagadian City. So everytime I went to visit my family back in PI I see to it that at least I could bring dried fish for my own consumption because I found out that in the Filipino store or any Asian store 4 pieces of tuyo (galungong) is worth almost $4!!! Yes that is how expensive dried fish here. So last Saturday was our get together again at Rowena's house, still the most requested dish that I have to bring is the "bulad" with tomatoes. Though I cooked some other dish like mongo with pork, maja blanca and pancit the bulad is the "queen" of all the dish.
Thankfully hubby was not around when I fry the bulad. I have a stove that I could bring outside of the house and fry the dried fish there but it was a bit chilly so I choose to fry it inside the house. When hubby came home he was still at the porch he knew I fry my ever favorite dried fish because as what he says it "stinks"!! LOL!! Eventhough I already opened the windows and lighted  some candles it still stinks but oh well he never get mad anyway, he only told me what ever you please go ahead....in other words I am spoiled hehehehe!!

Seafood galore..

Everytime hubby and I went to dine out at any chinese restaurant I see to it that I eat a lot of seafood. Like crab legs, shrimp, octopus and etc. Eh kasi naman bihira lang naman akong magluto nang ganito sa bahay specially the crab legs eh ang mahal kaya per pound nito. One of our trip to chinese buffet restaurant I was so excited to see the shrimp and crab legs on lunch time menu because usually at lunch  time they don't put crab legs and shrimps rather it is only taken out at dinner time. So that day I pig out and I told my hubby this is a seafood galore day for me.  Here is the picture that I took enjoy!

American chopsuey..

Here is the dish that I come up the other day. We had plenty of zucchini given by our relatives  and since shrimp is not abundant here I opted to use the pork. I saute the onion and garlic then put the pork. I put a little soy sauce then covered it up. Check if the pork is tender then I mixed the carrots first since carrot is more harder than zucchini. When the carrot is tender I mixed the zucchini and the peas cover it again. After 1 or 2 minutes I checked it again if all the vegetable is tender ( i like it crunchy). Then I seasoned it with salt and pepper. That's it kainan na!

One of my favorite fruit is Lanzones specially the one that come from the island of Camiguin. I don't know exactly when is there Feast day for Lanzones but thinking about the fruit makes me salivate. One time I went to a Filipino store and found a frozen lanzones in the shelf because I long for the fruit I bought one pack. When I get home I immediately ate it but of course it is not as good as the fresh one. I was checking my old photos and find this picture....

Prawn

I loved seafood in any shape or color hehe. I think because back in Pinas we have an abundant supply of seafoods. One time hubby went to visit me in Pinas I cooked for him a what we call shrimp scampi. I bought the big shrimp or prawn in the market fresh and let hubby took off the skin so he knew how it takes to eat a good scampi you have to do much effort to taste a good food. But when he ate my version of shrimpi scampi he craves for it all the time he was there. When I get here he asked me one time if I can make the  shrimp scampi so off we go to the supermarket but to my disappointment the shrimps are frozen don't know how many centuries it was inside the freezer but because he wanted shrimp scampi I cooked for him. It came out good too but because the shrimp is frozen and not fresh it doesn't pass to my standard hehehehe! Hubby noticed it too I explained to him the difference of a fresh seafood and the frozen ones even though I read somehere that a frozen seafood are still good as fresh but for me who live close to the sea water or dagat naku iba ang lasa sa fresh!!
And because hubby like shrimps I made another version of how to cook shrimps. I didn't make another scampi but I cooked a different one I just call it guisadong shrimp, which I only cook it with 7-up, garlic, onion, salt and pepper to taste. Voila it come out good enough for a craving person hehe.
