Black and White

In the Philippines we see many vendors selling food everywhere. Some had  there own small stall some had to carry their stuff where ever they go. This shot was taken last May when I went to the Philippines for a vacation. A hometown vendor.

"Karatela" is what we call this in our hometown. In some region in the Philippines they call it "Kalesa". This was taken last May and guess what we rode this "Karatela" with my niece and brother. I got scared when we stepped in I feel the horse do not like us we are too heavy I guess hahahahaha he tried to ran ^_^ It was a funny experienced because it's been years that me and brother rode this "Karatela" but my niece and nephew it's their first time. ^_^

Great pictures. I like the portrait of the vendor particularly - it catches his personality. The horse story is great.

The photo does indeed catch the vendor's personality. I love black and white photos as they lend a different perspective.

Black and white has it's own special effects. Love the shadows and lights one gets.

The vendor looks like he's ready for the day to end. Great photo of him and also of the horse carriage. I think the horse just wanted to hurry up and get his routine ride over.

I like the look of the Kalateta, but I might just photograph it and not ride it. You did a nice job converting the first image to black and white.

I love how black and white draws the eye to details I might not otherwise notice. I think it turns the first shot from a photo to a portrait. Love it!

Thank you for sharing these beautiful images from your world. Both are equally evocative.

Great street image of the horse and cart!

Brasil also has interesting street vendors, more in rio than in Friburgo - it is better controled in Friburgo, the vendors having licensed carts. In Rio as soon as the police go through the cardboard boxes come out - are set up - and in business in minutes. I've never taken a photo of this process - should.... like both photos.
