Nine Dead: An Edge of Seat Thriller

This is a guest post by my buddy Clarkson Eggers

Recently I ordered a pay per view movie on directv for corporations that I really enjoyed. I absolutely love the thrill of a suspenseful movie. In my opinion there is nothing better than a movie that keeps you guessing. Nine Dead was just the right kind of movie for this. It started almost immediately with the action. Nine people were kidnapped and taken into a room by a masked assailant. They were each handcuffed to a pole that was bolted to the ground. They were told that they had ten minutes to figure out why they were all there. If they had not figured it out in ten minutes someone in the room would die. It was very riveting to watch all of these people who were seemingly strangers begin spilling their guts about all of the different wrongs they had committed in their lives. Just as promised their kidnapper returned every ten minutes and killed someone until thy finally began to figure out the link that they had to each other.
The only thing that I did not like about this movie is the fact that there were not many good actors in it. Some of the people that were playing the parts were a bit unbelievable. One of the actors was Melissa Joan Hart from Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Actually, this was the only actor that I really recognized at all. It was a bit hard to see her playing in a role that was less than her usual squeaky clean and perfect self. Still yet I think that she gave a good performance and this could be the movie that will lead her to more serious roles in her career in the future. This was a good movie and I would give it about four out of five stars if I had to rate it.

I don't really have time to enjoy movies these days. Mostly, I will sneak in an episode or half of a Korean drama serial (with subtitles!) when Narelle takes her morning naps. The other evening, my hubby and older kids watched "The Spy Next Door"; it sounded funny, but I only managed to catch a few glimpses here and there.
