Yummy Sunday: Homemade potato soup

After my LH's  Aunt shared the recipe of this  homemade potato soup to me I already cooked it twice. Hubby likes it and so do I. It is a very simple dish with nothing so fancy about it. Aside from how easy to cook this dish it is also very nutritious. The first time I cook the dish I put a lot of potato and hubby commented to me that he likes more carrots and less potatoes so I change a little of the recipe. And anybody is entitled to change the ingredients of the recipe whatever it takes as long as you are happy about it and the people who you would like to share your dish is happy too.

3 potatoes, peeled, diced
2 or 3 carrots, peeled, chopped
1 med rib celery, chopped
onion, sliced (according to your liking to how much you put onion)
butter (2tbsp)
evaporated milk (according to how much you want to put)
salt
garlic powder to taste
dash of pepper
~~ Place potatoes, carrots, celery and onion in a 2 quart heavy pan and add water to cover. Bring to boil, then reduce to low heat. Cook until vegetables begin to soften. Stirring occasionally the starch in the potatoes will thicken the soup. Stir in remaining ingredients and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Serve hot!
