Winter scarves contest...wanna try?

This morning I woke up around 7:30 am then  I checked immediately my blog since I haven't updated any since Sunday. I happened to see UTAH MOMMYs message and she is inviting me to join her contest. It is about two winter scarves and jeez aren't they so pretty. It is more prettier because she made it by herself!! What a talent huh!! Wish I could make like that but I can't so I decided to join the contest and fingers cross I might win hehehe!!

Fish

Well that is what I knew basi sa mga nakilala ko.
Anyway, two nights ago we drove my SIL and her husband to the airport they are heading to Texas for my SIL's son who is going to be a pastor of their church. As we are going home from the airport I remember that the Oriental store that we went to the other time (when I bought my fishes) was not too far away from  the said place. So I suggested to hubby if we can just drop by and bought fish for me. Hubby doesn't have any qualms at all pag wish ko na lalo na isda since he knew that I love fish to the max. It was my 2nd time that we went to that store and my face lit up when I saw the different variety of fish. Well, the price is not as cheap if we converted it in peso but hubby said to grab as much as I want since the said place is a little bit far from my place. I got mackerel, sardines and little tuna which we called it backed in Pinas "pirit". I also grab one big piece of pork belly and some pancit and grated cassava. When we left the store hubby saw me with a big grin of my face and he teased me then. Well the night ended up with lots of fish in our freezer now this will last until next month I guess crossing my fingers!!

Tinolang isda

Last week the weather here was so depressing. It was not snowing yet but it was raining the whole 3 days, though I like rain but sometimes you got depressed when the weather is like that and it was really cold I thought it is already winter.

Anyway, because of the gloomy rainy days last week I hate to eat a lot of meat. I don't know but I guess my Filipina blood in me kicked in, in time like this. I remember when I was growing up everytime it  is raining or a little bit cold, my mama used to make lugaw for us and also our lunch should be always fish soup with good fish on it of course with malungay and other vegetables.

So last week I made tinolang isda, thankfully I still have some fish left in the freezer and two packs of frozen malungay. I immediately cooked it with lemon grass, ginger and chinese cabbage and voila it came up really good here is the picture.

Sweet for my sweets

Last Saturday, hubby, his brother and his wife, my SIL and me went to Petoskey, Michigan. It was my first time to visit Petoskey, I've been to Traverse City which is a bit close to each other and they are both along Lake Michigan. When we got there I already like the place. The town is overlooking the bay the trees are changing there colors the picturesque is perfect. After my hubby's nephew signing of books was done we went to Odawa Casino ahummmm not to gamble but to ate. Inside the casino they have two kinds of restaurant the fine dining and the buffett type. We went to the buffett type which cost us $7++ each person for lunch (good price right?). Anyway, my jaw drop to the vast array of food selection. I was imagining I was in the ship cruise hahaha! And there desserts wowowie it is awesome! I got some of the picture me and my companion got. Enjoy!
