Torta

I don't know if everybody specially Filipino's know about this dessert called Torta. Here in my province there is only one town that is very famous of torta and that is Jimenez, Misamis Occidental. Last week was there Feast day and thankfully a friend of mine send me a dozen of torta, I was craving for it for a longest time. Though I can buy it in some bakery but the one that is made from this town is different, it does taste so good a baker can't imitate the goodness of the taste. I love to cook but there are so many delicacies here in my country that I haven't tried cooking for me it requires practice to make it perfect and also it takes a lot of TLC tender loving cook to do it!! LOL! Here is the picture that I love to share.

Hi Jean, it is different from doughnut ang torta is more lighter. I am not a good baker kaya di ko masyadong alam hehe. Thanks for the visit.

i hope you can share jimenez torta recipe..maybe a friend has an old recipe.. i used to spend my summer vacation in jimenez way back the 90's and i always loved the taste of their torta.. too bad i wasn't able to ask the recipe back then.. i remember auntie veria (silveria lood) mixing the torta batter and then bring it to Magadan's Bakery to be baked in big their pugon.. then the baked torta were neatly arranged in a basket or sa bukag.. :)
