Fish soup

I've been in cloud nine for days now because I am eating fish all the time lol!! I didn't fry the fish but I cooked it to a soup. And since we have cooler days now soup is so good. But hubby can't live with fish soup for straight three days lol!! So I cooked for him nido soup or other American dish. For me, I will stick to my fish soup and rice, that is already heaven to me ^_^

Fish soup

I was craving for fish soup yesterday and I remember I had several fish head for fish soup. But then I don't have the right vegetable to mixed with it. So what I did I just figured out another ways, instead of bokchoy for leafy vegetable, I used the cabbage. For the seasoning I still do have the knorr sinigang mixed and my ginger and lemon grass paste.

I boiled the water first and when it's boiling I put the fish head. I let it boil again and then I put the cabbage and seasoned it as well. I let it boiled again but turn the heat to med/low. The fish gets cooked fast that's why you don't have to put a high heat. When the cabbage is done I seasoned it with salt and  pepper then it is done. I was so happy I got my craving for fish soup satisfied that day. Even if I don't have the right veggies into it but at least I had the fish, lol!! What about you guys what have you got yesterday? Anything that made you crave so far?

Fish soup and pusit

Last Thursday I was craving for a fish soup (sinigang na isda). I rummage the freezer because I knew I've had some fish there and I am so right. It was a tuna and its frozen to the bones ^_^. Every time this happens I could not help but think in the Philippines. Though I lived in the city but our fish market has fresh fish everyday. Every morning I used to go the market and look what's the best fish and the most fresh of all. And then when I get home I will make a fish soup.
Well since here in the US specially here in MI I don't have the privilege argh! But all my veggies are fresh just like my horse radish, tomatoes, bell pepper. Yup they come out from my garden and a pot! Then I feel like eating something salty so I rummage again my freezer and found pusit that I bought in Cebu the last time I visited Philippines and that was last year. Here are my photos!
horse radish (malungay)
bell pepper and tomatoes

PUSIT (dried squid)
Fish soup (sinigang/tinola na isda)
