Fall Tablescape

Yesterday we had a pretty good weather. I decided to get out walk around and enjoy the beauty of nature. Then I realize I need to change my table decoration but with out spending any money. I then look around for some inspiration and there it was the flowers I had in my frontyard and some yellow leaves and twigs with my small pumpkins.

My Tablescape

My first tablescape this season. We had the opportunity to picked apples knowing that almost all the trees here were affected by the frost last spring. Thankfully, one farm here in Michigan allows people to picked apples at there orchard. As we approached the farm I see the huge difference from last year to this year. For that reason the apples and all the fruits here in Michigan are way too high. Before one gallon of apple cider is $6.50 now it cost $8.50 that's is because there is nothing they can get from around here. So I thought my first tablescape is about the apples.

Informal Dinner or Luncheon

Informal Dinner or Luncheon

Simply start with a basic setting and add to it.
  1. If salad is to be served, the salad fork is placed to the left of the dinner fork. Eliminate the salad fork if no salad is served or place it to the right of the dinner fork to use as a dessert fork if appropriate. (The dessert fork can also be brought to the table when dessert is served.)
  2. If soup is served, set the bowl on the plate and a soup spoon to the right of the beverage spoon.
  3. Salad or bread and butter plates go to the left of the forks. Position butter plates above the forks with the butter spreader placed across the plate.
  4. Cup and saucer go above the spoons with the handle toward the right. Wine or water glasses handle toward the right. Wine or water glasses can be positioned to the left of the coffee cup. source:The Taste of Home Cookbook

This time I go for the blue color. Thanks to a friend she gave all her candles to me. Thanks Ms L.

Basic Table Setting

Setting the table is often a hurried task that leaves family members wondering about the correct placement of the flatware, plates, napkins and glassware. You don't have to add stress to your dinner plans, just start with basic table setting to dress up your dinner table and set the mood for your dinner party or gathering.

                                                                  BASIC SETTING
This is appropriate for most occasions, and you just add to the basic pieces as needed.
                 1) The dinner plate is positioned in the center of the place setting and everything else is
                       placed around it.

                 2) The flatware is arranged around the plate in the order in which it will be used:
                         * To the left of the plate is  the fork.
                         * To the right of the plate is the knife and spoon. The knife is placed to the right
of the plate with the sharp edge toward the plate. To the right of the knife is the spoon.

                  3) A water glass goes above the knife.

                  4) Napkins can be placed under the fork or on the plate for an informal setting.

My Tablescape

Here is my contribution this week TABLESCAPE THURSDAY

Friday, December 30 is our 7th Wedding Anniversay and I choose to make my tablescape simple and clean. So I come up with white lantern embellish with red and yellow garland.

Bought this lantern in SA and was happy that I did. Love how the candle glows inside. Wish I bought the other three, geez!!

From the right view. See my card tree? It's full ^_^

Now a closer look of my plate setting.

Have you ever seen a table napkin ring like this? When I saw this I didn't hesitate to grab immediately!!

A closer look, ain't that so cute?

Love this silver ware. Looks vintage but I guess not.

Side table with my new conquer tea pot

My Christmas Tablescape

This morning what I made me busy is changing and arranging the table. Last Tuesday my in-laws were here at the house and I cooked dinner. Today, I decided to change the table setting and these would be our Christmas table setting.

This place mat is thrifted. The most beautiful placemat I have every seen so cute and so unique.
The Santa Claus face is a pocket for silverware see it?
