Alfonso Fanjul

Haven’t heard of the name Alfonso Fanjul? He is the former Chairman of the Board and CEO of Fanjul Corp. and Florida Crystals Corporation. He started his career in 1950’s, in Cuba. He is also known as Alfy Fanjul and cute name for a very successful business person. He established this company from a very small business to a huge one later known has Fanjul Corporations. What I also know in my readings about Alfonso Fanjul is that he is a co-founder of Mission International Rescue Charities in the Dominican Republic. Today, his company covers a farm with a land area of 187,000 acres with two sugar mills, a sugar refinery, a rice mill and a packaging and distribution center. Thus, Florida crystals became a subsidiary to American Sugar Refining to become the world’s largest sugar producing company with annual capacity of 7 tons per annum.
