Fried rice & Galungong

Here is another dish that I so long to eat. In the Philippines we have the privilege to have galunggong (fish) and okra every day, if you want to. But here in the US, as I have shared it here that it will took us at least 45 minutes drive to go to an Oriental market, and so that's why when I get there I would spend at least $100 and most of that is to fish ^_^. This three piece galungong is worth $2.99 and it's packed already and I knew in the Philippines with that amount they can have maybe 1 kilo or 2 kilos for that. The other day, I fried the galungong and with my night old cooked rice I made  fried rise. I then steamed okra and voila superb dish I had!! ^_^

I don't know about others but I like okra with my galungong (I fried it)  and vinegar to dip, yum yum!!

I miss galunggong at times too...though we have them here...bigger! Mas masarap yung maliit....

Oh that looks so yummy! You have combined my two favorite ways of having okra. My mom always fried it when I was growing up but she would slice it and coat it lightly with cornmeal first. I, also, loved pickled okra. I love the fried combination with the vinegar dipping sauce. Great MYM post! :)

That is so delicious! Same goes here mommy Kim, we have to drive about 45 mins. just to get to an Asian store in the city because we live in a small town. Whenever we get the chance to shop, I buy a lot of things so I can have supply that will last me for a long time. No ocean around where I live. I miss fresh ocean fish so much.

I like my okra boiled only and then dip in soy sauce with vinegar and maybe some sili. hehehe.. :) Yummy fried rice! :)

Masarap talaga ang steamed okra na isinasawsaw sa bagoong, isda man o alamang. Naaawa ako sa mga kababayan natin na sabik na sabik sa pagkaing Pinoy at gumagastos nang malaki makakain lamang sila nang pagkaing Pinoy. Ikinukwento ko nga sa mga anak ko na mas hinahanap pa nang mga Pinoy abroad ang chocnut kaysa American chocolate candies. Gustong gusto rin nila ang lucky me pancit canton at ligo sardines at argentina corned beef. Sabi naman nang misis ko na nasa Las Vegas ay mas hinahanap niya ang Magnolia at Selecta ice cram kaysa sa American ice cream. Hay buhay, kung anong wala sa atin ay siya nating hinahanap hanap, hehehe. Thanks for the post. God bless you always.

Looks yummy... I missed those kind of food manang Kim. But super mahal man diri ang filipino food besides hubby doesn't like it so I'm forced to eat by myself :) which is not economical particularly on my hips...hahaha.
