Sarciado Sardines

Sarciadong Sardines sounds Spanish but this is what we named this food in our hometown. I prepare
- small can of sardines
- onion chopped
- garlic minced
- oil
- 1 tomato
    - 1 egg (beaten)
Procedure:
1. In the wok, heat the oil. Saute the onion first then when it is translucent put the garlic.
2. Pour the sardines into the sauteed onions and garlic, stir.
3. Pour the beaten egg, stir well.
4. Put the chopped tomatoes. Cover and turn off the heat.

You don't need to make the heat turn to high, just low or medium heat for this so as not to burn. Good with rice! Linking to FOOD FRIDAY

  4. oooh, a former housemate also used to cook something similar...she adds misua noodles and uses canned mackerel in brine (instead of sardines in tomato sauce). brings back memories of those good 'ol college days... :)

thank you so much for sharing this nostalgic recipe over at Food Friday, Manang Kim

  6. Made me curious where is your hometown Manang Kim. :D I love sardines but haven't tried it with egg like this. Usually it's scrambled egg with canned sardines, without the sauce. That's how my in-laws usually cook it. As for me, I love it with lots of garlic and some calamansi. :D

    Visiting via Food Friday!
