Every time I visit Philippines the first thing I do is to roam around the market. Lucky me our public market is huge and clean. I was done buying things we need at home when this familiar smell mesmerize me. The smell is so familiar it reminds me of my father. So I follow the smell and voila there it is the "ginangang na mais" or grilled corn. It is my fathers afternoon snack we go to the market every day or send somebody to buy it for us. The site of the corn just made my heart ache because of the memories that goes with it. Me and my nephew did ate the corn there before going home. Food oftentimes bring memories do you have one food that reminds you of someone?
And here is the corn vendor who is willing enough to flash a smile for me.
And this is how we grill the corn, simple life.
