Ruby Red Tuesday~ Hollyhock

This year I had planted four kinds of Hollyhock. This is my fourth one and it just blossom yesterday. It has a little bit of pinkish and reddish in color but the design is so beautiful very different to other 3 hollyhocks that I had. Here is my Fiesta Hollyhock!

  2. Now, there's a new name I have to look up; hollyhock.
Looks a bit like a carnation to me. Anyway it's beautiful, and so is the picture.

  4. The flower, one that I am not familiar with - but wouldn't mind if a few plants were in our yard. Each flower is like looking at a ruby sun as it bursts. Nice!

  5. Kim, is this from a Carnation family? Just asking judging on the appearance of the petals.

    Very lovely!

  12. How pretty. My mom was telling me that when she was a girl they used to make dolls from hollyhocks, but sadly she didn't remember how to do it.

  26. I love it! For some reason, I have trouble growing hollyhocks in my yard. Maybe I'll have to break down and buy plants - I always start them from seed.
